If you are at all considering booking a hotel in Sorong - stop immediately. Baronda Guest House is most singly the best accommodation you will find in the town. For many reasons. It is very affordable. It is beautiful. The host is absolutely amazing. The breakfast is fab. The area is so local and beautiful and clean. It is close to the airport. There is a shopping centre just a short Grab away. But the absolute highlight was going to the jungle with Fajri for birdwatching. It was both a humbling and incredible experience. Staying in the local village, walking with the local guides (who knows every part of the jungle) and seeing amazing creatures. Fajri made such a special effort with my meal (and difficult dietary requirements). We hope we have made friends forever.
